If you enjoy oysters go no further, with an excellent oyster selection (Hama Hama, anyone?) and full bar parents will enjoy date night vibes while children can enjoy the solid kids meal selection, including clams. The Prawn Cocktail and Dungeness Crab Cakes were our favorites! Checkout their weekday Happy Hour menu on oysters and other delights.

The breakfast, lunch and cakes to go are top notch here in Olympia. The Lox Bagel Sandwich is a favorite for breakfast as is their quiche. We ordered a full size carrot cake to go for a birthday party and the customer service was fabulous and the prices are just right.

To See: Hands On Children’s Museum- Is full of excitement inside and out! During the summer months children can play in the gold rush exhibit and mine for gold outdoors in the shade. All year long the Maker Space is fun for parents and kids alike with recycled items, clay, fabric and paint to take home your own creation. Check online for current discount codes.

Capitol Building Tours were fun and informative. We left with lots of fun facts about early settlers of Washington State as well as a coloring book to enjoy during dinners out the rest of the week. The tour guide made the tour age appropriate for the children she was guiding through Olympia’s Capitol Building. We would definitely go back!

Olympia Farmers Market- Open April to October, and a Holiday Market running November and December this year there’s always something to score at this lively open air farmer’s market. Live music, kid’s balloon artists and samples galore make the market experience fun and educational. The Olympia Farmer’s Market is just steps from Puget Sound and a cup of hot coffee!

Where are you and your family traveling to next? I’d love to hear about any family friendly destinations you recommend we check out!
